দ্বিতীয় ও শেষ পর্ব
"ব্যক্তিগত জীবন নিয়ে বলতে গেলে প্রথমেই আমি বলব আমার বাবা-মার কথা। আমি আমার বাবার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ, তিনি আমাদের সকল ভাইবোনদের মাঝে পড়বার একটা অভ্যাস জাগিয়ে তুলেছিলেন। তিনি নিজেও পড়তে ভালোবাসতেন। সেসময় তিনি যা করতেন, একজন বাবা হিসেবে এখনও আমি সেটা পারি কি না সন্দেহ। তিনি তাঁর সকল সন্তানকে সামনে বসিয়ে একেকটা বই নিয়ে আলোচনা করতেন, যা ভাবলে এখনও অভিভূত হই। পরবর্তীতে জেলা সরকারি গণ গ্রন্থাগারে অনেক সময় কাটিয়েছি আমরা ভাই বোনেরা প্রত্যেকে। আর তখন যেহেতু টেকনোলজির এতো অগ্রগতি ছিল না আমাদের বন্ধুদের মাঝে আড্ডাগুলোও বই-পত্র নিয়েই হত। কি চমৎকারই না ছিল বইকেন্দ্রিক সময়গুলো।

শিক্ষকতা জীবনের শুরুতেই স্কাউট আন্দোলনের সাথে জড়িয়ে যাই। এই আন্দোলনটা আমার কাছে অনেক বেশি গুরুত্বপুর্ণ। আমি বিশ্বাস করি, যে দেশে যত স্কাউট, সে দেশের তত দক্ষ তরুণ সমাজ। কর্মজীবনের অনেকটা সময় আমি এই স্কাউটের জন্য দিয়ে এসেছি যা অব্যহত আছে। প্রধান শিক্ষক হবার পর থেকে অনেকটা সময় আমি স্কাউটের আঞ্চলিক কমিশনার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করে এসেছি। একটা বিষয় হল, স্কাউটের শিক্ষা হাতেকলমে। এটা একজন শিক্ষার্থীর জন্য অনেক সহায়ক। একটু লক্ষ্য করলে দেখা যাবে ১৯০৭ সালে শুরু এই আন্দোলনের আবেদন কিন্তু ১০০ বছর পরেও এতোটুকু কমেনি। স্কাউটিং এমন একটি যায়গা যেখানে ধর্ম-বর্ণের ঊর্ধ্বে একটি সমাগম ঘটে। স্কাউটিং এ বরাবরই আমাদের ঠাকুরগাঁও সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় ভালো করে এসেছে। এবছর আমাদের একজন ছেলে শাপলা কাব অর্জন করেছে। আমরা আশা করছি সামনের দিনে একাধিক শাপলা কাব এবং বেশ কয়েকটি প্রেসিডেন্ট এওয়ার্ড আমাদের ছেলেরা জয় করে আনবে।

এছাড়াও নিজের দায়িত্ব থেকেই জেলার একজন সন্তান হিসেবে শিল্প-সংস্কৃতির সাথেও কাজ করবার সুযোগ হয়েছে। এ প্রসঙ্গে ঠাকুরগাঁও এর বৈশাখী মেলা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করা হলে বলব, ১৯৮৭ সালে তৎকালীন ১৩৯৩ বঙ্গাব্দে আলপনা সাহিত্য সংস্কৃতি সংসদের হাত ধরে ঠাকুরগাও-এ বৈশাখী মেলার যাত্রা শুরু হয়। আমি তখনও আলপনা সাহিত্য সংস্কৃতি সংসদের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ছিলাম, এখনও আছি। বাঙালী সংস্কৃতিকে লালন করতে এরকম একটা মেলা সহায়ক হতে পারে সেটা শুরু থেকেই আমরা বিশ্বাস করতাম। তার প্রমাণ আমরা মেলা শুরুর ৩০ বছর পরেও পাচ্ছি। এ মেলায় দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের সংস্কৃতিগুলো তুলে ধরা হয়। এই মেলাটির প্রধান একটা বৈশিষ্ট্য হল বাঙালী সংস্কৃতি। আমরা দোকানের নামগুলোও অন্য ভাষায় করতে নিরুৎসাহিত করি। সময়ের পরিক্রমায় এ মেলাটি সমগ্র ঠাকুরগাঁওবাসীর এবং তাদের সকলের সহযোগিতার কারণে এখানে কোন ধরনের অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনা ঘটে না।

কর্মজীবনে আমি আরও বেশ কয়েকটি বিদ্যালয়ে চাকুরি করেছি। এর মধ্যে পঞ্চগড় বিপি স্কুল ও পাবনা জিলা স্কুল অন্যতম। সব জায়গায় সম্ভাবনাময় তরুণ প্রজন্ম থাকলেও একটা বড় সমস্যা হল মাদকাশক্তি। এটি জাতির জন্য একটি অভিশাপ। আমরা সরাসরি ছাত্রদের সাথে এই নিয়ে আলোচনার মাধ্যমে তাদের পরামর্শ দিয়ে থাকি। তবে সুখের কথা হল, নানান প্রতিযোগিতা, কুইজ, টেলিভিশন বিতর্কগুলোতে শিক্ষার্থীরা স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করছে। যা আমার কাছে অত্যন্ত ইতিবাচক নিয়ামক বলে মনে হয়েছে।

আমরা স্কুলে শাখা প্রতি বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা এবং দেওয়াল পত্রিকার নিয়মিত আয়োজন করছি। দেওয়াল পত্রিকার কথা বললে স্কুল হোস্টেলের দেওয়াল পত্রিকার কথা আসবে সব সময়। প্রতি বছর বৈশাখী মেলায় একটি ভালো অবস্থান ধরে রাখার সক্ষমতা আছে তাদের। এছাড়াও বিজ্ঞানের প্রতি উৎসাহের জন্য বছরে একদিন প্রত্যেককে একটি করে বিজ্ঞান প্রজেক্ট করতে বলা হয়, যা বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক জাতি গঠনে ব্যপক ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে আমি মনে করি।

একজন দক্ষ নাগরিকের প্রধান গুণ হবে দেশের আইনের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা, বিজ্ঞান মনস্কতা এবং দায়িত্বশীলতা। তাই একজন শিক্ষক হিসেবে দক্ষ নাগরিকের বীজ আমি আমার সকল ছাত্রদের মাঝে বপন করবার জন্য বদ্ধ পরিকর।"

Second & Final part
"If I talk about my personal life, my parents will come first. I am grateful to my father, he helped to create a habit of reading books among all of my siblings. He also loved to read. What our father did on that time, I don't think I can do that now as a father. He used to discuss about a particular book in front of us, which I think is still overwhelming. Later on, each of us have spent a lot of time in District's Public Library. Since on that time we were not technologically that much advanced, so we used to chat about books amongst our friends. What a wonderful book-centered time that was!

At the beginning of my teaching life I was involved with the Scout Movement. This movement is too much important to me. I believe that, the more scout a country has the more skilled youth she bears. I have spent a lot of time for the scout in my career which is still going on. Since I became headmaster, I have served as a regional commissioner of the scout. One thing about scout is practical learning. It is very helpful for a student for the future. If we look carefully, the popularity of this movement is still at peak since it has started 1907, over one hundred years ago. Scouting is a place where such a meeting took place beyond religion, caste and creed. The Scouting has always been good in Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School. This year one of our students earned Shapla Cub. We hope that in near future our students will earn more Shapla Cub and President Award of Scout.

Besides being a child of Thakurgaon district I had the opportunity to work with art and culture. In this context, if I am asked about Thakurgaon ‘Boishakhi Mela’, It started by ‘Alpana Sahitto Songskriti Sangshad’ in 1987 (Bangla year 1393). I was the general secretary of the cultural club, I still am. From the beginning we believed that, this will be a help for the Bengali Culture. After 30 years we are still getting the result. The fair showcases the cultures of different parts of the country. Major feature of the fair is Bengali culture. We discourage others to name their shop in other languages. In Course of time, the fair has become of the people of entire Thakuragaon. Because of everyone's co-operation no untoward incident usually happens here.

I have served in several schools in my career. Panchagarh BP School and Pabna Zilla School are memorable for me. Drug addiction is a big problem everywhere though there is a promising young generation. It is a curse to the nation. We discuss this directly with our students and advise them. Fortunately, however, the active student community are taking spontaneous part in various competitions, quizzes & TV controversies. It seems to me to be a very positive factor.

We arrange debate competition and the wall magazine section wise on a regular basis. Speaking about the issue of wall magazine I must tell about Muslim Hostel. Every year, they hold the ability to get the first position in wall magazine competition of the ‘Boishakhi Mela’. For the encouragement of science every student is assigned to a science project once in a year which plays a huge role in the formation of scientific race I think.

A skilled citizen would hold the quality to respect the law of the country, to think scientifically and to be responsible. As a teacher I feel committed to plant this seed in the midst of all of my students."

প্রথম পর্ব

"ঠাকুরগাঁও সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে প্রধান শিক্ষক হিসেবে আসার আগে পঞ্চগড় বিপি স্কুলে শিক্ষকতা জীবনের শুরুতে আমি একটি লক্ষ্য নিয়ে কাজ শুরু করেছিলাম। সেটা হল বিদ্যালয়টিকে কিভাবে মানসম্মত একটি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে রূপান্তর করা যায়। শুরু থেকেই আমি অভিভাবকবৃন্দ এবং সুধীমহলের একটা সহযোগিতাপূর্ণ মনোভাব দেখেছি। আর অনুভব করেছি শিক্ষকদের মাঝে প্রচন্ড আন্তরিকতা। ফলস্বরূপ, শিক্ষার্থীরা দারুণভাবে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়। যার ফলাফল আমরা পেয়ে যাই ২০০৪ সালে। সেবার রাজশাহী শিক্ষা বোর্ড থেকে ৮ জন জিপিএ পাঁচ পেয়ে বোর্ডে সেরা আটে চলে আসে। যা বিদ্যালয়ের জন্য ছিল একটি অসামান্য অর্জন।

২০০৯ সালে আমি প্রধান শিক্ষক হিসেবে ঠাকুরগাঁও সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে আসি। যেহেতু নিজেও ঠাকুরগাঁও-এর সন্তান, মন থেকে বিদ্যালয়টির জন্য আলাদা তাগিদ আসতো। আর সবার সর্বাত্মক চেষ্টা শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে ভালো করার প্রয়াসটা বাড়িয়ে দেয়। একজন শিক্ষার্থীকে আমরা শুধুমাত্র ভালো ছাত্র হতেই বলি না। একজন প্রকৃত ছাত্র হবে দেশপ্রেমিক। আর সেই দেশপ্রেমিক যে দেশের প্রচলিত আইনগুলোকে শ্রদ্ধা করে চলে। এই দেশে কেন এতো বড় মুক্তিযুদ্ধ হয়েছিল, কেন দেশের জন্য এতো মানুষ নানান রকম ভালো কাজগুলো করে যাচ্ছে, এটা যদি ছোট থেকে শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে আমরা লালন করাতে পারি, সেই শিক্ষার্থী প্রজন্ম দেশের উপকার ছাড়া অন্য কিছু করবে বলে আমি মনে করি না।

বিদ্যালয়ের প্রাক্তন ছাত্ররা জেনে খুশি হবে যে বিদ্যালয়ের লাইব্রেরি কক্ষ এখন ছাত্রদের জন্য উন্মুক্ত। গত বছর চালু হওয়া লাইব্রেরিতে আমরা নানান আসবাবপত্র যোগ করছি। এই মুহুর্তে পাঠকক্ষে পড়ার টেবিল নির্মাণের কাজ চলছে। আরও আনন্দের সংবাদ, অবকাশ বা ছুটিগুলোতেও লাইব্রেরি খোলা থাকছে। সাথে সাথে আমাদের কম্পিউটার ল্যাবগুলোও খোলা থাকছে। বিদ্যালয়ের নানাবিধ কর্মকান্ডগুলোকে আমরা স্বয়ংক্রিয় করবার প্রক্রিয়ায় আছি। যেমন, আমাদের ডায়নামিক ওয়েবসাইটটি থেকে শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের ফলাফল জানতে পারছে। এছাড়া বেতনও যেন ঘরে বসে দিতে পারে, আমরা সে কাজটিও যোগ করছি অচিরেই। আমরা আমাদের ল্যাবরেটরিগুলোকে নিয়মিতকরণ করেছি। ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম সকল শ্রেণির সকল শিক্ষার্থী যেন ল্যাবগুলোতে প্রবেশ করতে পারে সে ব্যাপারে আমরা উদ্যোগ নিয়েছি।

আমার কাছে একটা বিষয় পরিষ্কার, আগ্রহ থাকলে সাহায্যের হাতের অভাব হয় না। অর্জনগুলোর ধারাবাহিকতায় ২০১৬ সালে এই বিদ্যাপীঠ দেশের শ্রেষ্ঠ শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান হয়েছে। এর মানে এই নয় যে আমাদের প্রাপ্তিটা এখানেই শেষ। সত্যি বলতে আমাদের দায়িত্ববোধটা আরও বেড়ে গেল।"

First part

"While I started teaching in Panchagarh BP School before joining as headmaster at Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School, I started with a vision. That was how to improve the quality of this School. From the beginning I've seen a very cooperative mentality of both the guardians and people around the society. And I felt the tremendous sincerity of the teachers. As a result, students were highly inspired. In 2004 we got the exact feedback. With 8 GPA-5 holders we became one of the eight best Schools in Rajshahi Education Board, which was an outstanding achievement for the school.

In 2009, I came back to this school as Headmaster. Since I also am a son of Thakurgaon, I've had distinctive feelings for this school. The students were immensely inspired by everyone's absolute trying. We do not claim a student to only become a good student. A genuine student should be a true patriot. He is the actual patriot who respects the common laws of the country. Why there was a great liberation war, why do the people of this country are continuously doing excellent things, if we can cherish these in the little students’ minds, I believe this generation will do nothing but the welfare of this country.

Former students of the school will be happy to know that the library rooms are open for students now. We launched the library last year and we are integrating various furniture. Reading tables are being constructed at this moment inside the reading room. The more news of joy is, during the vacation the library remains open. Computer laboratories remain open as well. We are in the process of automating various activities of the school. For example, students get to know their results from our dynamic website. In addition we're adding the online payment system soon. We have regularized our libraries. We have taken measures so that students from six to ten can get access to the laboratories.

One thing is now clear to me, if there is interest in any sector, there will be a lot of helping hands. Continuing the achievements, this year this school has been selected the best school all over the country. That does not mean the end of our achievements. Honestly, our responsibility and accountability have increased a lot than before."

"ছোট বেলায় চৌরঙ্গি হোটেলে কাজ করতাম। পড়ালেখা খুব বেশি করিনি বলে বন্ধুরা লজ্জা দিত। সেসময় সন্ধ্যার পরে কোকিল স্কুলে ভগো’দা, সাজু ভাই, বেলাল ভাই, কড়ি’দা প্রমুখরা নাইট স্কুল চালাতেন। লজ্জা ঘোচাতে কোকিলের নাইট স্কুলে ভর্তি হলাম। মেট্রিক পরীক্ষা দেই রিভারভিউ স্কুল থেকে। পরীক্ষা দিয়েই আর্ট কলেজ দেখার জন্য গেলাম ঢাকায়। মর্মান্তিক বিষয় হল মেট্রিকে অকৃতকার্য হলাম। হল না আর আর্ট কলেজে ভর্তি হওয়া! মৌচাকের দিকে একটা ফুচকার দোকানে কাজ নিলাম। ছোট বেলা থেকেই যেহেতু ছবি আঁকার প্রতি ঝোক ছিল, ঢাকায় কষ্ট করে থাকার সময়গুলোতেও আঁকাআঁকি করতাম।

একসময় রাজশাহী আর্ট কলেজের ডিজাইন মাস্টার শ্রদ্ধেয় শেখ নজরুল ইসলামের সান্নিধ্য পেয়েছিলাম কিছুদিন। ঢাকা থেকে ফিরে প্রথমে বলাকা সিনেমা হলের সামনে ফুচকার দোকান দেই। পরে জিলা স্কুল বড়মাঠে চলে আসি ১৯৮৩-৮৪ সালের দিকে। তখন থেকেই এখানে আছি। দিনের বেলা দোকান করি। অবসর দিনগুলোতে ছবি আঁকার চেষ্টা করি।

একবার শিশির ভট্টাচার্য বললেন, আজিজ ভাই, তুমি তো আর্ট কলেজে পড়নি। ছবির বিশ্লেষণগুলো কর কীভাবে? আমি একটু হেসে শিশির দা’কে একটি বিশেষ ছবির খসড়া এঁকে দিয়েছিলাম। সে এক কাহিনী। সেটা আরেকদিন বলা যাবে।

নিয়মিত আঁকা হয় না। তবুও ছোট-বড় মিলে পাঁচশ’ ছবি আঁকা আছে আমার কাছে। চিত্র প্রদর্শনী করবার জন্য এঁকে বাঁধাই করা আছে প্রায় ৩৫টির মত ছবি। গ্রামীণ যেসব জিনিস হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে, সেসব নিয়ে আঁকাআঁকির চেষ্টা করি। মাঝে মাঝে স্কুলের বাচ্চারা নানান ছবির বিষয় নিয়ে গল্প করতে আসে। আমি আনন্দ নিয়ে তাদের সাথে সময় কাটাই। আমার ভালো লাগে, আমার এই জ্ঞানটুকুকে তারা কদর করে।

একটি ফোর-বি অথবা সিক্স-বি পেন্সিল দিয়ে আমাকে যা আঁকতে দিবেন এমুহূর্তে আমি তাই এঁকে দিতে পারব। কিছুদিন আগে একটা ছবি এঁকেছি। একজন ক্ষুধার্ত ভিখারির সামনে একটি শীর্ণ বুভুক্ষু কুকুর এসে দাড়িয়েছে। কি করুণ দৃশ্য! ছবিটির নাম দিলাম ‘ক্ষুধার্তের মুখোমুখি’। এরকম আর ১৫ টি ছবি আঁকা হলেই বড়মাঠে একটি চিত্র প্রদর্শনী করব বলে বাসনা আছে। স্বপ্ন দেখি ঢাকায় বেঙ্গল গ্যালারিতে একটি চিত্র প্রদর্শনী করার।

সত্যি বলতে কি জীবনটা তো অনেক বড় না। স্বল্প দৈর্ঘ্যের জীবনের অনন্যসাধারণ অদ্বিতীয় মুহূর্তগুলো পেন্সিল স্কেচে বন্দী করতে পারাটা আমার কাছে এক বিশেষ পরমানন্দ।"

"I used to work at a small hotel name Chowringhee Hotel. For shortcomings at study sometimes my friends used to tease me. At that time, Bhago da, Saju's bhai, Bilal bhai, Kuri da and others had been running a night school at Kokil School. Out of obstinacy, I started to study at Kokil Night School to avoid my friends poking. I appeared metric examination from Riverview School. After the examination I went to visit the Art College in Dhaka. It will always be a tragedy for me for not being opportunated to study at Art College! I started working on a Fuchka shop at Mouchak. Since I was obsessed with drawing, I practiced drawing during those days in Dhaka.

Once I got the opportunity to spend some time with the design master of Rajshahi Art College, respected Sheikh Nazrul Islam. Returning from Dhaka I started a Fuchka shop in front of Thakurgaon Balaka Cinema hall. In 1983-84, I moved in front of Zila School Baramath. Since then, I have been here. During day time, I used to work at the Fuchka Shop. When I get leisure, I try to draw.

Once Shishir Bhattacharjee asked me, Aziz bhai, despite not being an Art College graduate how do you scrutiny the drawings? With a smiling I handed over a draft of drawing of a particular photo to him. That is another story.

I do not paint regularly. I have almost five hundred paintings. For exhibition I have 35 paintings. The rural things which are being lost, I try to draw them. Sometimes students come to me to discuss about drawing. I get pleasure to spend time with them. I appreciate that they value my little knowledge.

A mere 6-B or a 4-B pencil is quite enough to make a drawing for me whatever you ask for. A few days back I drew a sketch. It resembles a pathetic scene of ' A hungry beggar in front of a hungry thin dog'.I named the drawing 'Khudharther Mukhomukhi'. I intend to illustrate more 15 paintings with a view to making an exhibition at 'Baramath'. I dream for an exhibition at the Bengal Gallery too.

In fact, life is not too long. Sketching the singular moments of this short life is a unique joy for me."

"সিলেট ওসমানি মেডিকেল থেকে পাশ করবার পর আমার প্রথম কর্মস্থল ছিল সিরাজগঞ্জ সদর হাসপাতাল। কর্মজীবনে ঠাকুরগাঁও সদর হাসপাতালেও প্রশাসনিক পদে কাজ করার সৌভাগ্য হয়েছে। এবং এই মুহুর্তে ঠাকুরগাঁও-এ বসবাস করেই জীবন অতিবাহিত করছি।

আমার ছাত্র জীবন শুরু হয় ঠাকুরগাঁও প্রাইমারি স্কুলে। সেখান থেকে ঠাকুরগাঁও জিলা স্কুল। মেডিকেল জীবনে খুব সাদামাটা জীবন যাপন করার চেষ্টা করতাম। বাড়ি যেহেতু অনেক দূরে ছিল, মেডিকেলের সবাই আমাকে অনেক ভালোবাসতো। মানুষের চিন্তা-ভাবনা আর বিবেচনার চমৎকার দিকটা আমি তখন বুঝতে পারি।

অবসর গ্রহণ করবার পর থেকে আমি বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি সেবামূলক প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে কাজ করেছি। ইএসডিও-এর একটি চিকিৎসাকেন্দ্রে এখন কাজ করছি। সেখানে মাত্র ২০ টাকার টিকেটের বিনিময়ে সেবা দেওয়া হয়। টিকেটের টাকার অর্ধেক আমাকে সম্মানি হিসেবে দেওয়া হয়। বাকিটা চিকিৎসাকেন্দ্রটির উন্নয়নে ব্যয় হয়। সারাদিন সেখানেই সময় কাটাই। বিকেলে বাসায় আসবার পরে অফিসার্স ক্লাবে যাই মাঝে মাঝে।

অবসর সময়ে বাসার ছোট্ট একটি চেম্বারে বসে চিকিৎসা দেই। তবে কোন অর্থ গ্রহণ করি না। আমার মনে হয় বেসরকারি চিকিৎসা কেন্দ্রের টিকেটের অর্ধেক টাকা থেকে আমি যা পাই তা আমার সংসার চালানোর জন্য যথেষ্ট। বিশেষ করে আশ্রমপাড়া ও দক্ষিনপাড়ার আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল পরিবারগুলোকে সেবা দিতে চেষ্টা করি আর কি।

আমি মনে করি, দেশের মেধা তালিকার প্রথম সারির ছেলে-মেয়েরা মেডিকেলে ভর্তি হয়। শহুরে পরিবেশে পড়ালেখা করতে করতে এই মেধাবীরা আর ইউনিয়ন পর্যায়ে এসে অনেক সময় কাজ করতে চায় না। এটা ভীষণ জরুরী। আমি মেডিকেলের শিক্ষার্থী ভাই-বোনদের আহ্বান করি কমপক্ষে কর্ম জীবনের প্রথম দুই একটা বছর গ্রামে থেকে কাজ করুন। আসলে আমাদের পরিচয় হচ্ছে গ্রাম। গ্রামের নিতান্ত সাধারণ মানুষগুলো অনেক আশা নিয়ে অপেক্ষা করে। তারাও যেহেতু করদাতা আপনার ওপর তাদেরও একটা অধিকার আছে; তাই না? আর গ্রামে কাজ করলে অভিজ্ঞতার খাতাটাও ভারি হবে এরই সাথে।

ঠিক এই মুহুর্তে একটি প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান নিয়ে কাজ করছি যার প্রায় শতকরা ষাট ভাগ শিক্ষার্থী প্রতিবন্ধী। জেলা প্রশাসন থেকে একটি প্রায় পঁয়ষট্টি শতক খাস জমি আমরা পেয়েছি। আমি আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা প্রশাসনকে।

দুই সন্তান ঢাকায় নিজ কর্মস্থলে ব্যস্ত। ঠাকুরগাঁও-এ স্ত্রীসহ সৃষ্টিকর্তার কৃপায় ভালোভাবেই জীবন যাপন করছি।"

"After graduating from Sylhet Osmani Medical College, Sirajganj Sadar Hospital was my first workplace. Later on, I have had the opportunity to work as an administrative officer at Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. And at this moment I am residing at Thakurgaon.

My academic career began at Thakurgaon Primary School. After that I got admitted in Thakurgaon Zilla School. During the medical college life I have ever tried to live very simple. Since my home was far away, everybody from Osmani Medical College loved me. I started to understand the excellent aspect of human thoughts and consideration there.

Since my retirement I have worked with various non-governmental organizations. Now I am working with a clinic which is administrated by ESDO. The service is offered in exchange for a ticket worth just 20 taka. They honor me with half of the money collected from the tickets. Rest of the money is spent on the development of the clinic. I use to spend the whole day there. However, sometimes coming home in the afternoon I go to the Officers' Club.

During leisure time I give treatment at home in my small chamber. However, I do not accept any money in exchange of treatment. I think, with the money from the private medical center I get enough to run my family. I try to serve especially financially insolvent families from Ashrampara and Dakkhinpara.

I think that, boys and girls in the first row of merit list are getting admitted into Medical Colleges. These meritorious students study in urban environment; as a result sometimes they do not want to work at union level areas. It's very important for all of us. I invite all of the brothers and sisters from medical colleges to work at rural areas at least first one or two years of the career. In fact, the village is our identity. Ordinary people from the villages wait with a lot of hope. As a taxpayer, they also have a right on you; is not it? Besides, working in rural areas will extend the list of experience as well.

Right now I am working with a disability educational institution, sixty percent of students of which are disabled. We have received a land of about sixty-five shatak from the district administration. I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Thakurgaon district administration.

My two children are busy with their engagement of work in Dhaka. By the grace of the Almighty I have been living well with my wife in Thakurgaon."
