"সত্যিকার অর্থে জিলা স্কুল হোস্টেলে আমরা কবে এসেছি সঠিক মনে নেই, তবে চব্বিশ বছরের কম হবে না। হাফেজ রশিদ স্যার আমাদের এখানে এনেছিলেন। দীর্ঘদিন হোস্টেলে ছেলেদের রান্না করে খাওয়ানোটা আমাদের কাছে পেশা থেকে এখন এক ধরনের অভ্যাস হয়ে গেছে। গত দশ বছর যাবত আমরা অনেকবার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি এ চাকরি ছেড়ে দিয়ে নিজেদের বাড়িতে গিয়ে বসবাস করব। কোন এক অদ্ভুত কারণে হোস্টেলের মায়া ত্যাগ করে এখান থেকে এখনও চলে যেতে পারিনি!

প্রতি ঈদের আগের রাতে অথবা ঈদের দিন সকালে আমরা বাড়ি যাই। ঈদের দিনেই আমরা চলে আসি হোস্টেলে। হোস্টেলের বর্ডার আর আমরা সবাই মিলে একটা পরিবার যেন।

এখানে থেকে পড়ালেখা করে অনেকেই মানুষের মত মানুষ হয়েছে। বড় অফিসার হয়েছে। ছুটি-ছাটায় আসলে তাদের অনেকে যখন হোস্টেলের লাল রঙের লোহার গেটটা পেড়িয়ে হোস্টেল ডাইনিং মুখে অগ্রসর হয় আমাদের সাথে দেখা করার জন্য, এ দৃশ্য আমাদের দুজনের বড় ভাল লাগে! মনে হয় নিজের সন্তান আমাদের কাছে ফিরে এসেছে। তারা যখন আমাদের খোঁজ খবর নেয়, প্রাণটা জুড়িয়ে যায় আমাদের।

কোন পিতামাতার সর্বোচ্চ পাঁচ-সাত জন সন্তান থাকতে পারে। কিন্তু এ হোস্টেলের প্রাক্তন এবং বর্তমান সকল বর্ডার আমাদের সন্তানতুল্য! কোন এক পড়ন্ত বিকেলে এদেরই মাঝে কোন একজন এসে যখন জিজ্ঞেস করে, 'চাচা-চাচি কেমন 'ছেন?' এই বাক্যটাই আমাদের হৃদয়ে শান্তি এনে দেয়!"

"We can not tell the actual year we had joined here in Zilla School Hostel, at least 24 years from now. Rashid sir had brought us here. For cooking here for a long time it has become a passion from profession. From last 10 years we have taken decision to leave here many times but in vain. For a strange reason we could not move from here!

we go home night before every Eid or on the eid day. On the eid day we come back to the hostel. It feels like borders and we are a family together.

From here, many students have shined in their lives. Many have become senior officers. In fact, many of them, when proceed to the hostel dining side to meet us, this scene is great for both of us! It seems that our child is back to us. When they take our inquiries, the souls feel very joyous.

A parent may have a maximum of five to seven children. But the former and current borders of this hostel are our children, at least we believe so! When one of them comes in a late afternoon and asks, 'How are you Chacha-Chachi?' This sentence brings peace to our hearts! "
