"আমি খেলাধুলার সাথে সম্পৃক্ত হয়ে পড়ি ঠাকুরগাঁও সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তির হবার পরপরই। [খেলোয়াড় জীবনে মূলত ক্রিকেট খেলার সাথেই যুক্ত ছিলাম।] বিদ্যালয়ের ক্রিকেট দলের হয়ে পর্যায়ক্রমে আন্তস্কুল এবং বিভাগীয় পর্যায়ের টুর্নামেন্টগুলোয় অংশ নেই। উল্লেখ্য যে, সে সময় দলের অধিনায়কের দায়িত্বও আমি পালন করি। নবম-দশম শ্রেনিতে পড়বার সময়ে আমার ঠাকুরগাঁও যুব দলের হয়ে জাতীয় পর্যায়ে খেলার সুযোগ হয়। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় আমি ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা দলের হয়ে খেলার এবং পরবর্তিতে অধিনায়কের দায়িত্ব পালন করবার সুযোগ পাই। তৎকালীন ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা লিগ পর্যায়ে আমি একাধিকবার সেরা খেলোয়াড় নির্বাচিত হয়েছি।

বিদ্যালয় পর্যায় থেকে ধারাবাহিকভাবে সাফল্য লাভের পর আমি দেশব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠিত প্রফেশনাল লিগ সমূহে [ঠাকুরগাঁওএর প্রতিনিধি হিশেবে] অংশগ্রহণ করি। রাজশাহী অঞ্চলে এরকম একটা লিগে খেলাকালীন আমার ছোট ভাই সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় মৃত্যুবরণ করে। এরপর থেকে আমার আর খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে মাঠে নামা হয়নি।

আমার খেলোয়াড় জীবনের সমাপ্তি ঘটলেও প্রতিভাটাকে কাজে লাগানোর প্রবল ইচ্ছে আর খেলাধুলার প্রতি ভালবাসাটুকু ছিল। সে ইচ্ছা থেকে ১৯৯৮ সালে বিপিএড করে ১৯৯৯ সাল থেকে ক্রীড়া শিক্ষকতার সাথে জরিয়ে পড়ি। প্রথমে পঞ্চগড় জেলার একটি মাদ্রাসায় এবং ২০১০ সালে ভালো কিছু করার স্বপ্ন নিয়ে 'সালন্দর উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়' এ যোগদান করি। সে সময়টায় কেবলমাত্র ছেলেরাই খেলাধুলা করতো। আমি মেয়েদের প্রবল আগ্রহ দেখে তাদের নিয়েও প্র্যাকটিস শুরু করি। আমি প্রচলিত খেলা যেমন ফুটবল, ক্রিকেট, কাবাডি, হ্যান্ডবল ইত্যাদির পাশাপাশি হকি এবং বাস্কেটবলের মত অপ্রচলিত খেলাগুলোতেও শিক্ষার্থীদের সম্পৃক্ত করতে থাকি। সেসময় আমাদের অনেক প্রতিবন্ধকতার সম্মুখীন হতে হয়। তবে জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থা ও অন্যান্য ক্রীড়া সংগঠনের কাছ থেকে উৎসাহিত হয়ে এবং মেয়েদের আগ্রহ ও পরিশ্রমে আমরা সাফল্য অর্জন করতে থাকি। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায়, পর পর তিনবার রংপুর বিভাগীয় খেলাধুলায় আমরা শ্রেষ্ঠ বিদ্যালয় নির্বাচিত হই।

২০১৭ সালে আমাদের মেয়েরা জাতীয় স্কুল ও মাদ্রাসা হকি টুর্নামেন্টে রানার্স আপ হয়। এই বছর, ২০১৮ সালে মেয়েরা বাংলাদেশ যুব গেমসে বাস্কেটবলে রানার্স আপ হয়। একই বছর বরিশালে অনুষ্ঠিত ৪৭তম জাতীয় স্কুল ও মাদ্রাসা শীতকালীন ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতায় চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করে। দলীয় খেলাগুলোর পাশাপাশি জাতীয় পর্যায়ে অ্যাথলেটিক্সে আমাদের খেলোয়াড়েরা প্রতিভার স্বাক্ষর রাখতে সক্ষম হচ্ছে।

আপনারা জেনে আনন্দিত হবেন যে, বাস্কেটবল অনুর্ধ্ব ১৮ জাতীয় দলে আমাদের চারজন মেয়ে এবং হকি অনুর্ধ্ব ১৮ দলে সাতজন মেয়ে সুযোগ পেয়েছে। অনেক প্রতিকূলতার মধ্য দিয়ে এই অর্জনটুকু একটি বিশাল পাওয়া। কোনো খেলার ফলাফলে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হিসেবে যখন ঠাকুরগাঁও এর নামটা শুনি, সে অনুভূতি কথায় প্রকাশ করার মতো নয়। আজ আমার মেয়েরা জাতীয় দলে খেলছে। আমরা অপেক্ষা করছি সেই দিনের, যখন তারা বিদেশে গিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে খেলবে এবং দেশের জন্য সম্মান বয়ে নিয়ে আসবে। আমার খেলাধুলার আগ্রহ-ইচ্ছা এই খেলোয়াড়দের দ্বারাই প্রকাশিত হয়ে বজায় থেকেছে। এটাই আমার স্বার্থকতা। এখন একটাই স্বপ্ন দেখি যে, আমাদের খেলোয়াড়েরা আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমণ্ডলে সাফল্য অর্জন করবে এবং দেশের গৌরব হয়ে গড়ে উঠবে।"

"After being admitted to Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School, I was involved with sports soon after. [I was associated with playing cricket primarily in my sport life.] I took part in the inter school and departmental tournaments on behalf of the school cricket team. Note that, at that time I also hold the responsibility of captain of the team. I was fortunate to play in the national level from Thakurgaon Youth Team while I was studying in the ninth grade. In continuation of this, I got the opportunity to play for the district team of and to follow the leadership as a captain. In the Thakurgaon District League I was selected as the best player several times.

After these continuous success from the school stage, I started participating in the professional leagues [as a representative of Thakurgaon] nationwide. My younger brother died in a road accidents while playing in such a league in Rajshahi region. Since then, I have not been fielded as a player.

Though my player's life was ended, I had a strong desire to use my talent and love for sports. From this will of mine, I completed BPED in 1998 and from 1999 I got involved with the discipline of sports teaching. Initially, I joined in a madrasa of Panchagarh district and in 2010, I joined Salandar High School for doing something good. At that time only boys used to play. I started to realise girls' intense interest in sports and started practicing with them. I used to involve myt students with traditional sports such as football, cricket, kabaddi, handball etc. as well as in semi-non-existent sports like hockey and basketball. At that time we have to face many obstacles. However, we got helped from the district sports organizations and other sports organizations through the hard work of my girls. Holding this continuation, we were selected the best school for sports category three times in the Rangpur division.

In 2017 our girls got the runners up trophy in the National School and Madrasa Hockey Tournament. This year, they got the runners up trophy in Basketball at Bangladesh Youth Games. In the same year, in 47th National School and Madrasa Winter Sports Competition held in Barisal, our girls achieved the pride of becoming champion in the. Local as well as at the national level, our players have been able to keep their talent signature.

You will be delighted to know that, four of our girls have been selected in the basketball under-18 team and 7 of them in the Hockey Under-18 team. It is a great achievement to have these through many adversities. When Thakurgaon's name is heard as a champion of any sporting event, the feeling cannot be revealed with expressing words. Today my girls are playing in the national team. We are waiting for the day when they will play internationally and bring honor to the country. My interest in sports has been sustained by these players. That's my success. Now the only dream I comprehend is that our players will achieve success in the international arena and the country will become proud."

"সালান্দর উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হবার পর দেখতে পেলাম রানা স্যারের প্রভাবে খেলাধুলার একটি চমৎকার আবহ তৈরি হয়েছে। সেটা দেখে আমরাও প্রতিযোগিতামূলক খেলায় অংশগ্রহণ করবার ইচ্ছা পোষণ করি। আমাদের উৎসাহ বুঝতে পেরে রানা স্যার আমাদের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া শুরু করেন। প্রথম দিকে আমরা হ্যান্ডবল, ভলিবল, কাবাডি এসব খেলতে শুরু করি। ২০১৬ সালে ‘বাস্কেটবল ফেডারেশন’ ও ‘ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থা’র ব্যবস্থাপনায় আয়োজিত বাস্কেটবল প্রশিক্ষণটি আমাদের সামনে নতুন সম্ভবনার দ্বার খুলে দেয়। সে বছরই বিদ্যালয়ের আভ্যন্তরিক ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতায় বাস্কেটবল খেলাটি অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। ২০১৬ সালে ‘জাতীয় বাস্কেটবল টুর্নামেন্টে’ জেলা ও বিভাগীয় পর্যায় অতিক্রম করতে পারলেও আমরা জাতীয় পর্যায়ে কাঙ্ক্ষিত ফলাফল অর্জন করতে ব্যর্থ হই। পরের বছর ২০১৭ সালে যুব গেমস বাস্কেটবলে আমরা রানার্স-আপ হই। একই বছরে ‘জাতীয় বাস্কেটবল টুর্নামেন্টে’ আমরা চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করি।

আঞ্চলিক পর্যায় পেরিয়ে আমরা যখন বিভাগীয় পর্যায়ে যাচ্ছিলাম সেসময় মূলত পারিবার থেকে বাধার সম্মুখীন হই। তাছাড়া এর আগেও আমরা পরিবার থেকে পরিপূর্ণ সমর্থন পাইনি। পাড়ার লোকজন নানান রকম কথাবার্তা বলতো। জার্সি গায়ে আমরা বের হলেই ঠাট্টার সম্মুখীন হতাম। তবে জাতীয় পর্যায়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়ে ফিরে আসবার পর থেকে পরিস্থিতি অনেকটাই বদলে গেছে। এখন খেলাধুলা নিয়ে মেয়েদের কেউ বাধা দেয় না; বরং উৎসাহিত করে।

সামাজিক বাধা ছাড়াও বাস্কেটবল খেলার শুরুর দিকে আমাদের পর্যাপ্ত ক্রীড়াসামগ্রী ছিল না। এমনকি এখনও আমাদের বিদ্যালয়ে একটি বাস্কেটবল গ্রাউন্ড নেই। গ্রাউন্ডে অনুশীলন করবার জন্য আমাদের সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় মাঠ নয়তো বিডিআর ক্যাম্প মাঠে যেতে হয়। যার কারণে আমরা নিয়মিতভাবে অনুশীলন করতে পারছি না। অতিসত্বর এ বিদ্যালয়ে একটি বাস্কেটবল গ্রাউন্ড নির্মিত হবে, এই আমাদের প্রত্যাশা।"

"After being admitted to Salandar High School, we got to see an excellent environment of sports due to Rana Sir's great effort. Seeing this, we also did wish to participate in competitive sports. Rana Sir observed our keenness and started to train us. Initially we started playing handball, volleyball and kabaddi. A basketball training organized by the ‘Basketball Federation’ and ‘Thakurgaon District Sports Association’ in 2016 opened up new possibilities for us. In the same year, basketball game was included in our school's internal sports competition. Although we could exceed the district and divisional level in 2016, there was no such achievement for us at the final level in the ‘National Basketball Tournament’. Next year in 2017, we got the runners-up position in Youth Games Basketball. In the same year, we achieved the pride of being champion in the ‘National Basketball Tournament 2017’!

While we were through the regional stage and were to go for the divisionals, we had to face certain problems from our families. Moreover, we didn't get any support from our families even before. The whole neighborhood laughed at us when we were out wearing our kits. But now the situation has changed as we became the national champions. Girls are not being discouraged here to play anymore, rather people appreciate them.

Aside from the social obstacles, we didn't have enough gadgets when we started playing basketball. Even now there is no basketball court in our schoolyard. For playing and practicing, we have to go to Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School or the BDR Camp. Thus, we cannot practice properly and regularly. We really hope that a basketball court will be built in our school very soon."

"সালন্দর উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তির সময়েও আমাদের খেলাধুলা সম্পর্কে তেমন একটা ধারণা ছিল না। ২০১২-১৩ সালে শ্রদ্ধেয় রানা স্যার এই বিদ্যালয়ে আসবার পর থেকে আমরা খেলাধুলার সাথে জড়িয়ে পড়ি। সে সময় পর্যন্ত এখানে হকি খেলা শুরু হয়নি। অবশ্য আমরা হ্যান্ডবল এবং কাবাডি খেলার সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে পড়েছিলাম ততোদিনে। ২০১৪-১৫ ক্রীড়া মৌসুমে কাবাডিতে জেলা পর্যায়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হলেও, বিভাগীয় পর্যায়ে ফলাফল অর্জনে আমরা ব্যার্থ হই।

২০১৬ সালে রানা স্যারের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টায় শীতকালীন অন্তঃস্কুল ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতায় হকি এবং বাস্কেটবল খেলা অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। স্যার আমাদের বলেন যে, এই খেলা দুটো আমাদের দেশে নতুন হওয়ায় জাতীয় দলে স্থান করে নেওয়াটা তুলনামূলক সহজ হবার কথা। তৎকালে খেলার প্রয়োজনীয় সরঞ্জামাদি না থাকলেও আমরা পুরোনো হকি-স্টিক এবং বাস্কেটবল নিয়েই খেলা শুরু করে দেই। সে বছর জাতীয় হকি টুর্নামেন্টে আমরা জেলা পর্যায়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হিসেবে বিভাগীয় পর্যায়ে গেলেও জাতীয় পর্যায়ে যেতে পারিনি। পরের বছর, ২০১৭ সালে একই প্রতিযোগিতায় আমরা সারা বাংলাদেশে রানার্স-আপ হই! এই বছরে, ২০১৮ সালের জাতীয় হকি টুর্নামেন্টে আরও ভালো ফলাফল অর্জনের জন্য আমরা তুমুল প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছি।

খেলাধুলা জগতে আসবার পর থেকেই আমরা নানান রকম বাধার সম্মুখীন হয়েছি। পরিবার থেকে প্রথমদিকে সমর্থন পেলেও সামাজিকভাবে আমাদের অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়নি। একসময় আমাদের পরিবারও খেলাধুলার বিরুদ্ধে চলে যায়। উপরন্তু, খেলাধুলার সরঞ্জামাদির সরবরাহও যে খুব একটা ছিল না, তা বলতেই হয়। সব বাধা পেরিয়ে প্রিয় রানা স্যারের সহযোগিতা আর নিজেদের কঠোর পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে আমরা আজ এই পর্যায়ে আসতে পেরেছি।

আমাদের খেলাধুলার শুরু থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত অর্জিত সকল সাফল্যের দিকনির্দেশক রানা স্যার এবং বিদ্যালয়ের অন্যান্য শিক্ষকবৃন্দ। আমাদের অনেকেরই পারিবারের আর্থিক অবস্থা তেমন একটা ভালো নয়। সে কথা মাথায় রেখে আমাদের সকলের জন্য বিদ্যালয় থেকে বিনা বেতনে অধ্যয়নের সুযোগ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর বাইরেও রানা স্যার ব্যাক্তিগতভাবে আমাদের আর্থিক সহযোগিতা করেছেন। এসকল সহযোগিতার জন্য আমরা চিরকাল স্যারের কাছে ঋণী হয়ে থাকব।

আমাদের সাফল্যের এ ধারাটুকু আমরা বজায় রাখতে চাই। আমরা খেলাধুলার মাধ্যমে জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে ‘ঠাকুরগাঁও’ জেলার নাম দীপ্তিমান করবার নির্ভীক স্বপ্ন দেখি।"

"When we got admitted in Salandar High School, we did not have much idea about sports till then. After Rana Sir had joined this school during 2012-2013, we got involved in sports. At that time, basketball or hockey were not introduced here. But we have become involved in handball and kabaddi. Although we were the district champion in Kabaddi during the season 2014-2015, we were not fortunate enough to get good outcomes in the divisional level.

Hockey and basketball were got included in the winter intra-school competition in 2016 by the earnest efforts of our dear Rana Sir. He thought that, it would be relatively easy to take place in the national team as these are comparatively new games. In spite of not having necessary sporting equipment, we started playing with the old hockey sticks and outdated basketballs. That year we could reach to the divisional level as district champion in the 'National Hockey Tournament'; but we were unable to level us up to the national level. In the next year, we could see the specks of light! In the year 2017, we got the runners-up position all over Bangladesh in the same tournament. In this year of 2018, we are preparing ourselves for a better result in the National Hockey Tournament.

Since we have come into this world of sports, we faced several obstacles. Although we got initial supports from our families, we have not been given adequate social support. At a certain time our families also went against this sports. In addition, the supply of sports equipment was not sufficient. With the help of dear Rana Sir and our hard work, we were able to overcome these obstacles lately.

All our achievements that have been done since the beginning, we cherish to offer all credit to Rana Sir and our other respected teachers. Many of our family's financial status is not affluent. All of us have been granted the opportunity to study full free at the school. Apart from this, Rana Sir personally assisted us financially, we confess. We will always be indebted to Sir for this cooperation.

We want to keep up our success with a sustainable degree. We crave to highlight the name of Thakurgaon in the area of national and international level sports."

"১৯৯৫ সালে সিরাজগঞ্জ থেকে আমার বদলি হয় নিজ জেলা লালমনিরহাটে। জন্মস্থানের প্রতি প্রগাঢ় ভালোবাসার সাথে তারুণ্যের উদ্দীপনা মিলিয়ে প্রসূতি মায়েদের সেবা দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলাম সেসময়টা জুড়ে। তবে সেখানে সিজারিয়ান অপারেশনের ব্যবস্থা না থাকায় আমার পক্ষে রোগীদের পরিপূর্ণ চিকিৎসা দেওয়া সম্ভব হচ্ছিল না। ১৯৯৪ সাল থেকে রাজশাহী বিভাগে সিজারিয়ান সেকশনের প্রশিক্ষণ শুরু হলেও লালমনিরহাট অব্দি পৌঁছাবার আগেই সেটা বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। প্রশিক্ষণটি গ্রহণ করবার জন্য আমি চলে যাই বান্দরবান জেলায়। চট্টগ্রাম মেডিকেল কলেজে এক বছর প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে ১৯৯৭ সালে আমি চলে আসি ঠাকুরগাঁও-এ। সে সময় মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্রগুলোতে জনবল খুব একটা ছিল না। দশ শয্যাবিশিষ্ট মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্রে দুজন ডাক্তারসহ মোট কর্মী ছিলেন মাত্র আটজন। আমার আগের ডাক্তার সিজারিয়ান অপারেশন শুরু করে যান; আমি এসে কাজটা চালিয়ে নিয়ে যাই। দিনের পাশাপাশি রাতেও আমরা অপারেশনের ব্যবস্থা করি। তৎকালীন, পঞ্চগড় জেলাতেও সিজারিয়ান সেকশনের ব্যবস্থা ছিলো না। ফলে এই অঞ্চলের প্রায় সকল প্রান্তের মানুষকে আমরা সেবা দিয়ে এসেছি। এভাবে দেশব্যাপি আমাদের মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্রটি সুনাম অর্জন করে।

আপনারা জেনে আনন্দিত হবেন, ‘ঠাকুরগাঁও মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্র’ একাধিকবার জাতীয় পুরষ্কার অর্জন করেছে। ২০০৬ সালে সেরা দশটি মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্রের মধ্যে একটি ছিল এটি। এরপরে ২০০৯ সালে ‘দেশ সেরা মা ও শিশু কল্যাণ কেন্দ্র’ নির্বাচিত হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করে এ কেন্দ্রটি। এছাড়া আমার ব্যক্তিগত প্রাপ্তি বা সুখস্মৃতির কথা বলতে গেলে আমি একটি ছোট্ট গল্প বলতে পারি। আটোয়ারির এক মহিলা ছিলেন, প্রসবকালীন জটিলতায় তিনি আট সন্তান হারান। এখানে সার্বিক সেবা দিয়ে আমরা তার নবম শিশুসন্তানটিকে সফলভাবে জন্মদানে সক্ষম হই। ব্যক্তিগতভাবে এসকল ঘটনাগুলোকেই কেন জানি বড় প্রাপ্তি বলে মনে হয়।

আমি বিশ্বাস করি, মা ও শিশু স্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিতকরণে চিকিৎসা সেবাকে কার্যকর করতে হলে জনগণের মাঝে সচেতনতাটা বাড়ানো জরুরি। মায়েদের পরিবার পরিকল্পনা সম্পর্কে জানতে হতে হবে। গর্ভকালীন সন্তান এবং নিজ স্বাস্থ্য সম্পর্কে সজাগ থাকতে হবে। জনসংখ্যার অনুপাতে আমাদের যথেষ্ট চিকিৎসক ও জনবল নেই বললেই চলে। তাই জনগণ সচেতন হলেই কেবল চিকিৎসা সেবার মাধ্যমে মা ও শিশু স্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিত করা সম্ভব হবে, এটা আমার ভীষণ মনে হয়।

এতোদিন যেভাবে মানুষকে সেবা দিয়ে এসেছি সেভাবেই সেবা দিয়ে যেতে চাই। এর বাইরে দেশ ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধ নিয়ে কিছু লেখার চেষ্টা করছি। আমাদের আশেপাশে থাকা মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা, যাঁদের অবদান প্রকাশিত হয়নি এখনো, তাঁদের সংগ্রামের গল্পগুলো মানুষকে জানাতে চাই। এর মাঝে আমার দুটি কবিতার বইও প্রকাশিত হয়েছে।

আমার জন্ম লালমনিরহাটে হলেও আমি এখন ঠাকুরগাঁওয়েরই একজন। এখানেই চাকরি জীবনের প্রায় বিশটি বছর আমি কাটিয়েছি। বহুসংখ্যক মানুষের ভালোবাসা পেয়েছি। আমার যাবতীয় সফলতা-ব্যর্থতা ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ের মানুষকে ঘিরে। আমি মন থেকে চাই এখানকার তরুণসমাজ অসাম্প্রদায়িক ঠাকুরগাঁও গড়ে তুলবে এবং দেশকে সামনে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে নেতৃত্ব দেবে।"

"I got transferred to my home district Lalmonirhat in the year 1995 after served a long time in Sirajganj. With passionate love for the people of my birthplace, I was serving mothers with my full heart. However, there was no cesarean operation system available there; so I was unable to provide patients with complete treatment. Since 1994, the training of the cesarean section had started in Rajshahi division. Unfortunately, it was stopped before the service could have reached Lalmonirhat. I went to Bandarban to take the training. In 1997, I came to Thakurgaon with a one-year training in from Chittagong Medical College. At that era there was not much manpower in the mother and child welfare centers. There were just two doctors with total staffs of only eight persons in every ten-bed mother and child welfare center. The previous doctor who was here in my position started the cesarean operation, then I came and did the job continue. Along with daytime, we also did arrange operations at night. At that time, there was no cesarean section in Panchagarh too. As a result, we had to serve the people of almost all corners of this region. In this way, our mother and child welfare center has earned a reputation in the country.

You will be pleased to know that, ‘Thakurgaon Mother and Child Welfare Center’ has earned national awards more than once. This center was one of the top ten Mother and Child Welfare Centers in 2006. Afterwards, this organization achieved the pride of being selected as the Best Mother and Child Welfare Center in 2009 across the country. Apart from talking about my personal reception or happiness, I would tell a little story. A woman from Atwari, lost her eight children due to complications during childbirth. With the overall services here, we were able to give birth to her ninth child successfully. Such individual incidents seem to be big achievements for my life.

To ensure the health of mother and child, it is necessary to increase the common awareness among mass people, I believe. Mothers should be aware of family planning. They need to be aware of prenatal child and their own health. We do not have enough doctors and manpower in contrast to the population ratio, we can see. So, if only mass people are aware, I strongly consider, it is possible to ensure the health of mother and child through medical care.

I want to serve the people through the way I have served them always. Outside of this, I am trying to write a little bit about our country and the liberation war. I want to tell the struggling story of the freedom fighters around us, whose contributions have not been published yet. Meanwhile, I am gratified enough to publish two poetry books.

Although I was born in Lalmonirhat, I am one of the inhabitants of Thakurgaon right now. Here I have spent about twenty long years of my career. I have received love and endorsement from many people. Every Success and failure of my life is surrounded with the people of Thakurgaon. I would like to invite the young generation to build a non-communal Thakurgaon and thus lead the country forward."
